Leader appoints two new IRGC commanders

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appointed new Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) deputy commander and deputy commander for coordination.

In two separate decrees released on Thursday, the Leader appointed Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi as deputy commander of the IRGC and Brigadier General Mohammadreza Naqdi as the deputy commander for coordination of the country's military force, IRNA reported.

Ayatollah Khamenei, who is also commander-in-chief of Iran’s Armed Forces, appreciated these commanders’ valuable efforts in their previous posts.

He also expressed hope for boosting IRGC's all-out potentials and its readiness in all fields.

Rear Admiral Fadavi was the IRGC deputy commander for coordination and Brigadier General Naqdi was the commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer) force previously.

Earlier, in April, the Leader promoted Major General Hossein Salami to the rank of major general and then appointed him as IRGC chief.

Major General Salami was the deputy commander of the IRGC previously.
