The Trump baby blimp was stabbed by a Trump supporter, identified as Amy Dalla Mura, on Tuesday.
In a video posted to Twitter, the activist filmed herself approaching the nearly 20-foot-tall orange, inflatable baby blimp and pierced it with a sharp object, Presstv Reported.
“That’s a disgrace!” Mura shouted at a group of surprised anti-Trump protesters nearby. “That’s a national disgrace, the president of the United States is the best president ever!”
The pro-Trump activist then filmed herself walking away from the blimp, encouraging bystanders around her to take a look at what she had done.
“I think Donald Trump’s balloon is not very well. I think it’s going down rapidly for a reason,” she says.
Mura seemed to have accidentally stabbed herself in the process as the video showed blood on her hands while she was walking away from the balloon.
“I’m bleeding quite badly, though,” she said, raising a bloodied hand to the camera.
The footage also showed police apprehending the British activist and asking her to submit to a search. It is unclear if Mura faces any charges.
Trump and his wife Melania arrived in London on Monday for a three-day state visit, which drew tens of thousands of protesters to the streets in the British capital city.
Trump downplayed the protests on Tuesday, calling them “very small.”
The Trump baby blimp, which depicts a nappy-clad president holding a mobile phone, was ordered by London Mayor Sadiq Khan to be flown over Trafalgar Square.
The balloon took flight outside the Houses of Parliament during the American president's first UK visit in July 2018, with Trump saying at the time that the blimp made him feel “unwelcome” in London.
Khan wrote in an op-ed on Saturday that the United Kingdom was on the “wrong side of history” ahead of Trump's visit.
The US president, in response, called the anti-Trump London mayor a "stone cold loser" in an early morning tweet Monday.
.@SadiqKhan, who by all accounts has done a terrible job as Mayor of London, has been foolishly “nasty” to the visiting President of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom. He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me......
The spat showed no sign of cooling down and Khan criticized the US president later in the day for his divisive policies and said that Trump was acting like children and there was a need for the British government to challenge his ideas on women and minorities.
According to a recent poll by research firm YouGov and Queen Mary, more than half of Londoners are opposed to Trump's visit to Britain's capital.
Meanwhile, Trump's three-day visit came at a time that Britain was bracing itself for a new premier as Prime Minister Theresa May was about to step down within weeks over her failure to handle the UK’s exit from the EU.
The US president has openly criticized May for her Brexit strategy, which has failed to materialize Britain’s objectives in the wake of its decision to quit the European Union.
