In a meeting between Armenian Ambassador to Iran Thomas Artashes Toomanian and Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini on Tuesday, the two sides highlighted the need to expand ties in the cultural and artistic fields, wrote IRNA.
The meeting also focused on the significance of Iran’s great civilization and culture.
Both countries can help introduce each other’s culture, Toomanian said, adding that Armenia is willing to have its art and culture introduced in Iran.
Armenia and Iran have several cultural commonalities and the basis for cooperation in friendship cultural field, he added, the current level of cooperation needs to be upgraded.
Armenian choir group will also perform a concert in Tehran to commemorate Armenian composer Komitas, he said.
Hosseini said that holding theater, music and visual arts festivals as well as artists exchange are opportunities to develop the bilateral cooperation.
