Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday sent the transparency bill to the parliament for legal proceedings, according to a statement by the president’s official website.

The transparency bill was approved by the cabinet in May with the aim of promoting the level of transparency and realization of a healthy and dynamic economy in the country.

Since, increase in the government’s transparency would lead to the public confidence in the establishment and strengthens the public participation in the fight against corruption in the country, the president sent the transparency bill to the parliament, the statement said.

Also on Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani chaired a session of the Supreme Council of Economic Coordination attended by the head of the country’s Judiciary and parliament speaker.

During the session, Rouhani emphasized that any reform in the structure of the country’s budget should not have negative impacts on people’s life.
