Iran to exhibit Spain’s history, civilization

Iran will soon hold an exhibition at the National Museum of Iran, featuring the artworks of Spain’s Archaeological Museum of Alicante, said the director of the Iranian museum, Jebrael Nokandeh.

The exhibition titled, ‘Archaeological Heritage of East Spain: Selections from the Archaeological Museum of Alicante,’ will feature 280 historical relics in the coming months, he said.‌

Agreements were made to hold the exhibition, while Spanish officials, including the director general of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, Alberto Cortés Garrido, accompanied by Iranian cultural officials, visited the site of the exhibition.

Previously, the exhibition, ‘Iran, Cradle of Civilization,’ ran from March 14 to Sept. 1 in Spain, displaying the earliest developments of agriculture and livestock farming, from the very beginning to cuneiform clay tablets, gold beakers and ornaments, bronze weapons and beautifully painted ceramics associated with successive Iranian kingdoms.

Nokandeh added that over 60,000 people visited the Iranian exhibit in Spain, which was a great success.
