Iran snatched a silver medal at the shooting competitions of the Napoli 2019 Summer Universiade in Naples, Italy.

On Saturday, Iran’s three-man team – comprising Mahyar Sedaqat, Amir-Mohammad Nekounam and Hadi Qarabaghi – tallied 1865.8 points in the men’s team 10m air rifle final to settle for a second-spot finish, finishing behind China, which scored 1869.4pts.

Slovakia notched up 1863.2pts for the bronze.

The silver took Iran’s tally to two medals following Sajjad Pourhosseini’s bronze in the men’s 10m air pistol contest on Friday.

Some 6,000 athletes represent more than 100 countries at the 30th edition of the games in the southern Italian city on July 3-14.

Iranians take part in shooting, volleyball, archery and taekwondo competitions.
