Melbourne festival to host two Iranian films

Melbourne International Film Festival 2019 which runs August 1-18, is due to screen two Iranian films ‘Brick and Mirror’ and ‘Passage.’

‘Brick and Mirror,’ directed by Ebrahim Golestan, is considered a pioneering example of the first Iranian New Wave, ISNA wrote.

The newly-restored version of ‘Brick and Mirror’ was previously premiered in the Classic section of the 2018 Venice Film Festival.

‘Passage,’ a short film directed and produced by Kimia Hendi, is about a girl who gets a different perspective on loss after losing her father.

MIFF is one of the world’s oldest film festivals and it is considered to be one of the most prestigious festivals in Australia.
