Iranian international Vahid Amiri rejoined Persian Gulf Pro League champion Persepolis.
After a disappointing season in the Turkey’s Süper Lig – where he scored only once in 22 appearances for Trabzonspor – the 31-year-old Iranian agreed to a two-year with the Tehran Reds on Saturday for an undisclosed fee.
“I am very happy to return to Persepolis once again. I had several offers from the other Iranian teams but I opted to return to my home,” said Amiri on his return to Persepolis.
Having joined Persepolis in the summer of 2016 for the first time, Amiri went on to win two league titles with the club and was also named Iranian Footballer of the Year in 2018.
He played 74 games and scored nine goals in the Reds’ outfit before signing for the Turkish side.
