Zarif honored at ECO Cultural Institute exhibition

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was honored at ECO Cultural Institute’s exhibition on the art of Tazhib (illuminated manuscript) on Iran’s National Reporters’ Day (August 8) for his influential measures in diplomacy.

Farzin Piroozpay, director of Tazhib Institute for Culture and Art, praised the continued cooperation of ECO Cultural Institute with the country’s artists.

The ceremony was attended by Mohammad-Mehdi Mazaheri, head of the ECO Cultural Institute, acclaimed master of traditional music and vocalist Shahram Nazeri, a group of prominent illuminated manuscript masters and other artists, as well as a number of diplomats, IRNA wrote.

The head of the Iran-Albania Friendship Association, Ali Eqbali, referred to the issue of sanctions against Zarif, expressing the ECO president’s and the guests’ support for the Iranian top diplomat.

Eqbali added that one of the components with which Iran can directly introduce itself to the world is the culture of Iran.

On July 24, the US Treasury announced the sanctioning of Zarif.

Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Majid Takht-Ravanchi described the sanctions against Iranian Foreign Minister as a sign of US insincerity in claiming to wish to negotiate with Iran, saying the sanctions cannot quell Zarif’s eloquent and persuasive words.
