Iran-UK cinematic production ‘Ghost Lake’ ends shooting

Iran-UK philosophical horror feature film ‘Ghost Lake,’ written and directed by Reza Ja’fari-Jozani, wrapped up shooting in northern Iran and will soon be distributed internationally.

Portraying a philosophical and mystery fiction, the 100-minute film is inspired by the poems of the Persian poet Rumi and follows the story of some young investigators who travel to the Ghost Forest in northern Iran in order to discover the secrets of the Ghost Lake, but confront calamity, reported.

The cast includes a number of new talents such as Maryam Akbari, Hesam Bani-Eqbal, Pegah Hamidifar, Reza Khayati, Reza Zarei, Nazanin Alidoust, Amirhossein Kamjoo, Reza Mazandarani and Hadi Yas.

Listed as a natural heritage site for its distinctive look and astonishing beauty, Ghost Lake is an untouched area between Royan and Noshahr, and has a very difficult passage to go through.

The pristine nature around the lake is predominantly foggy and the sound of wild animals can be heard around it. Together with the view of dried up trees in the middle of the lake, it received the name of Ghost Lake.

Bani-Eqbal, who is the executive producer of this project, has already worked on some Hollywood features such as ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’ and ‘The Wolfman.’
