Iranian and Malaysian officials in a meeting on Sunday discussed bilateral relations, especially economic cooperation in the light of US sanctions against Iran.
The meeting was held between Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Malaysian counterpart Datu Vira Haji Marzouki Yahya in Tehran, according to Mehr News Agency.
Both officials also discussed recent international and regional developments.
The Malaysian deputy foreign minister also invited the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on behalf of the Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Bin Mohamad to attend an international conference in the Southeast Asian country’s capital, Kuala Lumpur.
The aim of holding the conference is to examine the problems facing the Muslim world and find solutions to the new international issues.
