Turkey has sufficient knowledge of Iran’s economic strength and capability as well as its people’s willpower and determination, added Öztürk Oran speaking at Iran’s 25th National Conference on Non-Oil Exports in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz on Wednesday, IRNA reported.
“The two countries’ fate and future are intertwined. We have many cultural commonalities and frequently use each other’s poems and literature.”
He called on both states to do their best to overcome obstacles to boosting mutual trade.
“We attach importance to the development of our bilateral ties. We seek to expand such relations. Greater efforts are required to this end given the international and regional developments.”
The historical background of friendship between Turkey and Iran dates back a long time, he said, adding expanded cooperation between the two countries is of great importance to the region.
The extent of the Iranian export diversity is of major importance to Turkey as Tehran is among Ankara’s trade partners, Oran stressed, describing the present level of trade between the two countries as insufficient and in need of seeing a boost.
He assured Iran that it will overcome its economic problems and turn into a richer and more powerful country.
Oran described trade and investment opportunities of Tabriz as high, adding that they should be further presented to investors and entrepreneurs.
He suggested that Turkish and Iranian chambers of commerce establish a joint consortium to enhance trade cooperation between the two countries.
“We want Turkey to become Iran’s gateway for entering European markets.”
Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Iraq took part in Iran’s 25th National Conference on Non-Oil Exports which was held on Wednesday.
