Report: Azerbaijan’s 10-month transactions with Iran rose 30%

Azerbaijan’s trade with Iran witnessed a 30-percent growth in the first 10 months of 2019, compared to the figure for the same period last year, according to a report by an Azerbaijani state organization.

According to the report by the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, trade between the two countries stood at $422.68 million during January-October 2019, IRNA reported.

The State Customs Committee’s report added that the value of this year’s 10-month trade between the two countries is $99.23 million higher than that of the preceding year.

During January-October 2019, Azerbaijan exported products valued at $30.99 million to Iran, indicating a 39-percent rise compared to last year’s figure, which amounted to $8.7 million.

In addition, the country imported $391.69 million worth of products from Iran in the same 10-month period, showing a 30.1-percent increase compared to the value of Iran’s overseas sales to Azerbaijan in the same period of 2018, which stood at $90.53 million.

According to the report, trade balance between the two neighbors in this period was $360.69 million in Iran’s favor; while during the same period last year, Azerbaijan recorded a trade balance deficit of $81.82 million in its transactions with Iran.
