Mosayeb Amiri underlined the necessity of introducing provincial traditional arts and crafts on the national and international arenas, IRNA wrote.
An exhibition featuring the handicrafts of the province was held on the sidelines of the third Ministerial Meeting of Ancient Civilization Forum in China.
Cooperated with the Fars Handicrafts Cooperatives Union, the exhibition included handmade crafts, engravings, traditional jewelry, mosaic, copper, seven-color tiles and wooden artifacts.
This specialized exhibition was an opportunity to introduce Iran’s handicrafts in general and arts of Fars Province in particular to Chinese people, Fars province’s tourism chief said.
He added that currently most of the province’s handicraft products are exported to the Persian Gulf littoral states and European countries and this exhibition is a great opportunity to find a new destination for its handicrafts.
The exhibition was opened by Iran’s Minister of Culture, Handicrafts and Tourism Ali-Asghar Mounesan.
The three-day civilization meeting which was held in the Chinese capital Beijing ran until December 1.
