‘Kiarostami and His Missing Cane’ to represent Iran at IntimaLente festival in Italy

Iranian documentary ‘Kiarostami and His Missing Cane,’ about the world-renowned filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, was accepted in the screening program of the ninth IntimaLente Film Festival in Italy, slated for December 20.

The feature-length documentary, directed by Mahmoudreza Sani and produced by Behrouz Neshan, is the latest narrative on the late filmmaker.

In this film, Kiarostami is portrayed as a child who is exploring new games. As Kiarostami says, cinema for him is like a game that allows him to go back to his childhood.

The piece attempts to depict the late filmmaker’s worldview and his perspective on life and cinema.

IntimaLente aims to promote documentary cinema with particular attention to anthropological topics and methodologies, according to the event’s organizers.

‘Kiarostami and His Missing Cane’ had previously taken part at Eurasia International Monthly Film Festival in Russia, and won the best feature-length documentary award at the fourth Salto Independent Film Festival in Uruguay.
