Iran’s Delnavazi snatches silver at US Global Music Awards

Nima Delnavazi from Iran won the silver medal of Global Music Awards 2019 in the US.

Delnavazi, a tar (Persian string instrument) player and teacher, received the award for his ‘Ray to Tisfoon’ album.

The tar phenom, who comes from a musician family, is considered one of the youngest talents in contemporary Persian music.

Tehran Conservatory of Music was the first center Delnavazi started his career but the musician’s academic education specifically in playing tar began when he was 12. The artist received his BA at the University of Music in Tehran.

The solo album, ‘Ray to Tisfoon’, which brought him the prestigious silver, was published in 2016 and warmly welcomed by the audience at Fajr International Music Festival in the same year.

Delnavazi was also nominated as the best soloist and composer for the 2017 Fajr music event.

Established in 2011, the Global Music Awards is a well-known international music competition that celebrates independent musicians. Each year, Global Music Awards receives hundreds of entries from around the world.
