According to the official announcement made by the festival, the only Iranian film, which is a social drama, will go on the silver screen on January 25.
The screenplay of the 78-minute film has been inspired by a true story which addresses the potential problems facing immigrants returning home after years, ifilmtv.com reported.
“Roja, a migrant woman who has lost her husband in Germany, returns to her home country [Iran] to manage his inheritance,” reads a plot summary of the film.
Arusha Beigi, Behnaz Ja’fari, Sadaf Asgari, Khosro Pesiani and Atila Pesiani are among the film’s cast.
Founded in 2012, SRIFF provides a framework on how intercultural understanding and collaboration can be forged even outside the realm of cinema. SRIFF aims to narrow distances between people and cultures, to break boundaries and foster cross-cultural collaboration and social change.
The SRIFF is scheduled for January 21-25 in Dublin, Ireland.
