The poll published on Friday revealed Trump’s approval rating among black Americans was even worse, with 9 in 10 African Americans saying they disapprove of the job he has done so far in the White House, The Hill reported.
Some 65 percent of the people asked said that they feel optimistic about their lives, 65 percent said they think it is a bad time to be black in the United States, while 77 percent said they believe for whites life is good in America, Presstv Reported.
And, only 16 percent of the people surveyed said they think that black children born in America today have "a good opportunity to achieve a comfortable standard of living," while 75 percent said they think white children have that opportunity.
Since being elected to the White House, Trump has repeatedly used racist language but has also regularly touted his accomplishments with the black people.
He claims there are historically low unemployment numbers for black Americans under his presidency and vows he has done more for black Americans than any other president.
Despite Trump’s claims, 56 percent of those surveyed said the national economy is not doing good, and 77 percent believed that the president deserves “only some” or “hardly any” credit for the current 5.5 percent unemployment rate among black adults.
The poll was conducted between January 2 and 8 and surveyed 1,088 black adults. The margin of error is about 3.5 percentage points.
According to a 2018 survey, most American voters think Trump is a racist person and life conditions for minorities have taken a turn for the worse under his presidency.
The survey by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that 57 percent of Americans – including more than 8 in 10 blacks, three-quarters of Hispanics and nearly half of whites— thought Trump was racially-biased.
Of all respondents, 57 percent thought Trump's policies have been bad for Muslims while 56 percent said the same for Hispanics.
For African Americans the figure dropped to 47 percent, including three-quarter of blacks.
The poll also found that over 9 in 10 African Americans disapproved of the way Trump has been handling presidency and 9 in 10 thought he was leading the country in the wrong direction.
