ILO keen to enhance cooperation with Iran

The International Labor Organization (ILO) is seeking comprehensive cooperation with Iran in labor-related issues, director general of ILO said.

Guy Ryder made the statement on the sidelines of the meeting with Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Mohammad Taqi Hosseini, appreciating Iran's role in enhancing cooperation among governments and developing countries.
Hosseini, who is participating in the meeting of ILO board of directors in Geneva, said Iran will share its experiences with the entity.

"As one of the ILO founders and a member board of directors, Iran has extensive cooperation with the global body," he said.

Hosseini explained some of Iran's achievements in implementing labor protocols and supporting workers.

Ways of increasing Iranian participation in ILO plans were also examined in the meeting.

The International Labor Organization aims to promote rights in workplace, encourage employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.
