Quran invites Muslims, followers of all faiths to unity

Chairman of “Islamic Unity, Challenges, and Opportunities in View of the Quran” seminar underlined that the Holy Book invites Muslims as well as followers of all other faiths to unity.

Addressing the seminar on Friday, Mehdi Feiz referred to verse 64 of Surah Al Imran that calls for unity and said materialization of unity is quite possible, IRNA reported.

He said unity among Muslims should be given more importance than others, adding that staying away from discord and strengthening Islamic unity around the Holy Quran and Holy Prophet (PBUH) is necessary.

Referring to the enemy plots in countries like Syria and Iraq, Dr Feiz urged Muslims to remain vigilant against such schemes plotted by the enemies, reported.

He also said that the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei have emphasized the importance of unity in the Muslim world.

The cultural deputy of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) further referred to the preparations for the seminar and said some 140 papers were submitted to its secretariat on the theme of Muslim world unity.

A team of scholars including Masters Nekunam, Ma’aref, Pahlevan, Lesani Fasharaki, Sharifi and Karimi evaluated the papers according various criteria such as content, form and methodology of research, he noted.

The seminar was held at Tehran’s Milad Tower on the sidelines of the 5th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students.
