Envoy stresses development of ties with Baku

Iran and the Repbulic of Azerbaijan enjoy potentials for expanding cooperation, Iranian Ambassador to Baku Mohsen Pakaeen said on Monday.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the local officials in the Astara city located in the northern province of Gilan, IRNA reported.

President Hassan Rouhaniˈs administration have been successful in boosting ties with the neighboring countries including Azerbaijan, the envoy said.

He added that Iranˈs Gilan, Ardabi and West Azarbaijan and East Azarbaijan provinces which share a border with Azerbaijan have the potential to enhance trade exchanges between the two countries.

The election of Rouhani to the Iranian presidency in June 2013 developed Iran's relations with the world particularly neighbors.

Rouhani’s optimism over developing relationship with Azerbaijan Republic is genuine. Both sides show an interest in repairing ties.
