Iran's southwestern province of Khuzestan accounted for almost 41 percent of the country's annual date exports in the past 10 years, an official said, adding that the output witnessed a decline last year due to a number of reasons including drought.
Figures released by Agricultural Jihad Ministry show that Iran produces 1.15 million tons of dates annually, of which 200,000 tons are exported, said an official at Iran Dried Fruit Exporters Association (IDFEA).
