Astara is a city in the northern province of Gilan. It lies on the border with Azerbaijan Republic and along Caspian Sea shores. It is a relatively important border trade center linking Iran and the Caucasus. The majority of the people in Astara speak in Taleshi — an offshoot of Azeri-Turkic dialect. Astara has a blend of Gilan and Azarbaijan cultures.
Investment opportunities in the tourism industry were introduced to more than 20 groups of foreign investors, said the deputy head of Isfahan Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department for investment and planning.
Bandar Abbas is the capital of southern province of Hormuzgan. Bandar Abbas Port lies midway along the Hormuz Strait which links the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman. It is located 500km south of Kerman. It has an international airport with regular flights to other Persian Gulf states.
