A deal has been signed between the Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters and the Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) for the production of 5,000 tons of railway lines as Tehran eyes to reduce dependency on foreign companies and cut dollar-related expenditures.
Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami said his ministry plans to add some 1,500 kilometers of railroad to the country’s rail network by the end of the current administration’s term (August 2021).
