Head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) said that based on the 20-Year Vision Plan (2005-25), the number of foreign tourists visiting Iran should increase to 20 million from the current five million.
Official statistics show that the number of tourists from Iraq and the Persian Gulf littoral states visiting Iran has decreased in 2016 and 2017, while that of European and American visitors to the country has witnessed a remarkable growth since August 2015.
The number of foreign tourists visiting Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad Province grew sevenfold since the eleventh government took office in August 2013, said director general of Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department.
