Iranian short film 'Driving Lessons', directed by Marzieh Riahi, will take part in the competition section of the 59th Cartagena Film Festival in Colombia, slated for March 6-11.

Riahi's film will participate in Latin America's oldest film festival, which is mostly dedicated to promoting Colombian television series, Latin American movies and short films, ISNA reported.

The cast of the Iran's only representative in the Colombian event includes Linda Kiani, Alireza Thanifar, Salar Khamseh and Sanaz Mesbah.

Cartagena International Film Festival is one of the few events in the region that is an Academy Award qualifying festival for short films, which allows this festival to also have excellent programming in this section. The festival's best short film will be introduced to the Oscars.
