Leader underlines justice, fairness toward non-Muslims
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Islam has ordered Muslims to treat the followers of other religions with justice and fairness.

"What is seen in the world today is that powers and governments, which claim to [advocate] fairness and justice do not observe any, except within the bounds of their narrow, limited and cruel policies,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with representatives of religious minorities in Majlis.

The Leader said what is at issue is not why the Muslims do not have the necessary freedom in most of these countries, but why Muslims do not have any physical safety, Press TV reported

Ayatollah Khamenei cited the Hollywood film, American Sniper, as an example and said it encourages Christians and non-Muslim youths to harass Muslims.

“Islam does not accept this approach. It believes in fairness,” he said.

The Leader stated that Imam Ali (PBUH), the first Imam of Shias, said a Muslim who dies over the harassment of a non-Muslim in a Muslim country would not be blamed.

The Leader said young neo-Nazis have on several occasions beaten up and killed Muslims, and damaged mosques with impunity.

Ayatollah Khamenei cited the instance of young Arab Muslim girls who have been beaten or even killed because of their hijab and nobody bothered to investigate the issue.

The Leader added that similar cases also exist in other countries, which claim to defend human rights, including the US.

Ayatollah Khamenei said after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979, there is no record of aggression by Muslims against non-Muslims.
