Najafi: New IAEA report exposes US false claims
Iran’s representative to the UN nuclear watchdog said on Monday that the body’s new report has once again proved that Iran’s nuclear activities are in direct compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal, contradicting the US claims.

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency Reza Najafi made the remarks hours after the IAEA published its latest review on Iran’s commitment to the nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), IRNA reported.

“The agency continues to verify the non-diversion of declared nuclear material at the nuclear facilities and locations outside facilities where nuclear material is customarily used (LOFs) declared by Iran under its Safeguards Agreement. Evaluations regarding the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities for Iran remained ongoing,” said the IAEA report.

The new report, Najafi said, the ninth since the implementation of the JCPOA in 2016 and the eighth quarterly report to the Board of Governors on verification of the JCPOA, once again proved Iran’s full adherence to the JCPOA.

He added that the latest report of the IAEA includes major issues including continuation of all Iran’s nuclear activities such as keeping up enrichment at the rate of 3.67 percent with 30 cascades.

Najafi also stressed that Iran and other members of the IAEA expect the agency to continue with its impartial assessment of the agreement.

Despite eight reports by the IAEA confirm Tehran’s compliance, US President Donald Trump on October 13 delivered an anti-Iran speech in which he said he would not continue to certify Iran’s compliance with the terms of the JCPOA, reached under his predecessor, Barack Obama, and warned that he might ultimately terminate the agreement.

The US Congress now has less than 60 days to decide whether to reimpose economic sanctions on Tehran that were lifted under the nuclear accord.
