Rwanda welcomes Iranian investors
Rwandan President Paul Kagame underscored his country's determination to broaden all-out ties with Tehran and welcomed investments by Iranian companies.

Speaking in a meeting with Iran's new accredited Ambassador to Rwanda Morteza Mortazavi, the president said his country will seize the opportunity, provided by its presidency over African Union and membership in UN Human Rights Council, to narrow gaps between countries and bolster convergence among them, reported Fars News Agency.

Welcoming Iranian companies' investment in Rwandan infrastructural projects, he underlined the need to strengthen relations between the two countries' private sectors.

The Rwandan president vowed to do all within his power to help improve bilateral ties, recommending Foreign Minister Louise Mushikiwabo, who was present in the meeting, to cooperate with her Iranian counterpart in the field.

During the meeting, Mortazavi presented his credentials to the Rwandan president.

He underlined that the Iranian officials are determined to broaden ties with African states, considering enhancement of cooperation with the continent, including Rwanda, as among their priorities.

Referring to Iranian companies' capabilities in various sectors, the Iranian ambassador called for preparing the grounds for the involvement of Iranian private sector in the country's projects and increasing bilateral economic exchanges.
