Iran's trade balance became positive in month to Feb. 19

Iran's exports from January 21 to February 19 increased by more than 53 percent in value compared to the preceding 30-day period to make the country's trade balance positive, according to Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Iran exported goods valued at $6.78 billion during this period, IRNA reported.

Iran's exports in the month to February 19 were five percent and one percent higher than the figures for the same period of last year in terms of value and weight respectively.

Exports during the 30-day period to January 20 stood at $3.97 billion, indicating a 26-percent growth compared to the figure for the preceding month.

Since December 22, 2017, Iran's trade balance reflected a positive trend. During the month to January 20, trade balance reached -$1.262 billion from -$2-billion in the period between November 22 and December 21. In the month to February 19, the trade balance became positive.

During January 21-February 19, Iran imported products valued at $4.85 billion.

During March 21, 2017-February 19, 2018, Iran's total exports stood at 117.95 million tons, valued at $41.69 billion.
