Iranian actor Moheb-Ahari passes away at 68
Iranian actor Hossein Moheb-Ahari, a cinema and theater actor, died on Wednesday following a long battle with cancer.

Authorities in Tehran's Laleh Hospital gave the reason for his death as the recurrence of lymph node cancer.

Born in 1951 in Tehran, Moheb-Ahari played roles in Iran's cinema, theater and television. He began theatrical photography from 1971 and received his BA in Persian Literature in 1979.

He embarked on his acting career with a minor role in Pouran Derakhshandeh's 'Relationship' in 1988.

He later went on to act in several films, including 'Cargo', 'The Magical Journey', 'Two Films with One Ticket', 'Pickpockets Don't Go to Heaven', 'Spouse', and 'I Like the Earth'.

His other movies and series included: 'Spaghetti in Eight Minutes', 'Avicenna', 'Huge Problems 1&2', 'Tabriz in Fog' and 'The Fateful Day'.

The late Moheb-Ahari also worked for the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) as a journalist for a couple of years in the 1980s.

Several cinematic figures such as the Deputy Director for Art Affairs of Culture Ministry Mojtaba Hosseini, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Managing Director Abdolali Ali-Asgari, actresses Fatemeh Goudarzi, Mahtab Keramati, Behnoosh Bakhtiari and many others have expressed condolences over the sad demise of nationally-acclaimed Iranian film director Moheb-Ahari.
