CAO head: Domestic capabilities offset sanctions impacts on aviation industry
Domestic scientific, technical and training capabilities have helped reduce the negative impacts of unilateral US sanctions on the Iranian aviation industry and enabled it continue its development, said the head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization (CAO).

In May 2018, President Donald Trump pulled the US out of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, signed between Iran and the P5+1 in July 2015, and reimposed Washington’s unilateral sanctions on Tehran in two phases.

In an address to a ceremony to honor top figures of the Iranian aviation industry in the Iranian capital of Tehran, Ali Abedzadeh added since a few decades ago, domestic and international flights have been, and will continue to be operated thanks to the will on the side of those involved in domestic aviation industry to respect the rule of law in the country’s transportation sector and the teachings in this regard, IRNA reported.

The CAO is indebted to the capabilities of Iranian experts and those of the CAO the high security provided by the domestic aviation industry and the level of conformity to regulations in the sector and the international honors and positive points the industry has received.
