The 20th International Exhibition of the Press, News Agencies and Information Websites ended on Friday in Tehran.

About 560 media entities took part in the event, of which 373 were private and 183 state-run.

The Turkish Anadolu Agency, Al-Manar of Lebanon, Phoenix of China, Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen from Germany, the Associated Press (AP), Time Magazine and the AFP were among the foreign media outlets participated in the exhibition.

Over 10 educational workshops and sessions were also held on the sideline of the press exhibition.

Iran publishes a large variety of dailies, weeklies, and monthly newspapers and periodicals covering a range of fields.

The press exhibition is a good opportunity for the people to meet those involved in the media. Also, it is an ideal occasion for media members to personally get in touch with their audience.

Managing Director of Islamic Republic News Agency Mohammad Khoddadi underscored the indigenization of media science, adding the media should turn into a need rather than a means.

Khoddadi, who attended the closing ceremony of the exhibition, described national security and interests as the media's redlines.

He also said information, security and honesty can help improve the media, adding the professional media is essential for the country's development.

The 20th International Exhibition of the Press, News Agencies and Information Websites opened on November 8.
